This beautiful Williamson County home is only about 8 years old, but the original finish selections seemed much more dated than that when my clients purchased it. This Foyer is the perfect example of that. The warm colors, and dark cream trim were holding it back.
The most efficient way for me to update the foyer was with a crisp coat of white paint. The walls, ceilings and trim all got a coat of my favorite white – Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17. In 8 years of working as a designer, it’s never failed me!
The existing walnut floors were gorgeous but the richness had faded over time. Once they were sanded and oiled, the beautiful natural grain and color variation could shine through.
In order to update the existing handrail and iron balusters without replacing them, I had the handrail sanded and re-stained ebony, and the balusters painted white. The end result is that the dated balusters disappear into the wall color beyond and draw less attention to themselves.
A simple furniture arrangement and an oversized fiddle leaf fig tree round out the space and make for an inviting scene as you step inside this elegant foyer.
